3 Feet Short is a 4-piece ska/punk band from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The band was formed in 2000 by singer/guitarist Kyle Fox, at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School where he met Rob Megna, Tom Moorey, and Samm Bahman, who would become the other members of the band. By age 15-17, the members of 3 Feet Short had finished their first full-length album, Hypocritically Acclaimed, were getting good reviews, and playing largely popular hometown shows.

In 2003 they embarked on their first East Coast tour lasting two weeks, and in 2005 independently released their 2nd album, Apocalypse New. They opened for national artists like State Radio, Goldfinger, Badfish, Catch 22, Bayside, Zox, The Pietasters, and many others, at venues such as The Avalon, The Palladium, The Middle East, The Webster Theater, Harpers Ferry and The Living Room.

In 2006, they put out a live DVD filmed in Cambridge, Massachusetts at The Middle East Club, of the band performing in front of a sold out crowd for Plan B's CD release party.

In 2007 the band changed their name to The Release, keeping all the same members, but changing their musical style a bit.
